Ceva is hosting its second ‘Break the Pain’ Conference and Round Table for farm vets wishing to learn more about the most current thinking on NSAID use in the dairy cow and to challenge the barriers on pain management.

The one-day event is free of charge and will take place on Wednesday 7 May at the Lancaster House Hotel in Lancaster. It will feature five presentations on the extensive role of NSAIDs in dairy cow management, followed by an interactive round table discussion.  It is the second consecutive year that the conference and round table event has been staged following a hugely successful event in 2024.

The esteemed speakers include: Nicola Gladden BVM&S Dip ECBHM PhD FHEA MRCVS, farm animal clinical assistant professor at the University of Nottingham; James Wilson BSc PhD, foot health consultant at Herd Health Consultancy; Bethany Griffiths BVSc MRes PhD MRCVS, veterinary surgeon at Farm Gate Vets in Cumbria; Emily Craven MA VetMB PGCertVPS MRCVS, PhD student at Nottingham University and veterinary epidemiologist, Natalie Robinson BScVetPath BVetMed PhD MRCVS.

Nick Bell MA VetMB PhD PGCertVetEd FHEA DipECAWBM(AWSEL) MRCVS, director of Herd Health Consultancy, will facilitate the round table discussion.

Sam Bowker, vet surgeon at Blackdown Farm Vets in Devon who attended last year’s event, comments: “Attending last year’s conference was hugely worthwhile; useful in both technical knowledge and practical discussion about how to implement changes in practice. One great outcome was a stimulating discussion in our practice clinical club about how the vets prescribe pain relief on farm visits.”
